New from September...Hatha based class, suitable for all levels including beginners...

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced yogi, join me on Wednesdays 6pm - 7pm, from September 4th in the studio at Ashby Leisure Centre for a transformative yoga experience. Improve your wellbeing, learn techniques for coping with stress, develop flexibility & strength, learn how to keep moving safely & effectively with injuries or health conditions.

My classes cater to all levels, offering modifications & progressions depending on your stage & providing a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone.

Come and enjoy the benefits of yoga, try something new and find balance in both body and mind.

I'm not flexible - Fab, you are the perfect participant! Flexibility is the first component of fitness to return when you begin or return to activity. It will help with injury prevention and correction, in normal day to day activities, with low level aches and pains and get you standing taller with more confidence. Yoga is not what you see on Instagram, it really is not about touching your toes - its about what you learn on the way to them...

I can't kneel/sit crossed legged/ balance - Again fab...you will develop balance and all its benefits & all postures and balances can be adapted and modified around mobility or injury issues. In fact the majority of people come initially because of this and stay for the physical and mental benefits yoga practice brings them.

Its just for women/young people - Tell that to the England Mens Football team & my oldest participant (89) Yoga really is for all - I have sportsmen and women, weight trainers, marathon runners to the not so young on the clock who are keeping supple & mobile (some also running marathons) to people who are returning to activity after a long break from moving or illness, injury. Everyone is welcome and supported.

What if I fall asleep/snore/fart/pee a bit/laugh or cry - So what? I promise you no one will notice as they will be too busy enjoying their own practice and everyone does it! Any of those are actually a compliment to a teacher that we are delivering an effective practice and all natural. Relaxation to zzz, release of emotion or anything else are all healthy benefits of a mind & body - whole self practice.

I can't do Yoga because...Some common misconceptions..

And about me...

My name is Jo, you may have seen me around the centre as I also teach swimming and am often found pootling up & down the outdoor pool or in the gym.

I have taught group exercise for nearly 20 years. I am a fully qualified (YMCA Level 3, Yoga Professionals) CIMSPA registered and insured teacher with years of experience of delivering safe & effective classes.

I am also incredibly passionate about Yoga, believe in it being accessible to all and class being a safe space for everyone. Also fun!..some of my Yogis have made firm friendships and found support when they needed it from each other. It’s much more than just an exercise system…

My classes are Hatha based incorporating Vinyasa & Pranyama & designed towards my participants needs as they develop in practice.
